Greetings from Camp Luther!

I am blessed to be the full-time Program Director for youth camp at Camp Luther!  I have grown up attending Camp Luther as a summer campers since I was in 4th grade!  I remember how much fun I had, the friends I made, and most importantly the way my spiritual life was impacted.  I remember reading my Bible for the first time on my own outside in the beauty of God’s creation while at camp!

We want Camp Luther to provide that experience for everyone that comes here.  We want to connect campers with God through the beauty of His creation, relationships with other campers, the mentoring influence of Christian counselors, and the group building that occurs during all of our activities.  We do this by providing the best possible summer counselors.  Our counselors are college students from all over the country who want to spend their summer serving God by teaching campers about Jesus and giving them the best possible experience of their summer!  Our counselors are carefully selected from various colleges across the country and go through an extensive interview process before being hired for the summer.  It is our privilege to always have such an amazing staff of young adults excited about ministry!

Another way we connect campers God is through their participation in His creation while they are here.  We have a beautiful lake for canoeing, swimming, and kayaking, as well as an athletic field where the kids spend most of their activity times playing angleball, soccer, volleyball, paddle tennis, and capture the flag.  Other favorite activities include archery, biking, group-building challenge course activities, and games with our gigantic earthball!  Each day includes various activities for campers to participate and enjoy God’s beautiful creation while at Camp Luther.

Our main focus is to ensure that your child has the best possible time that they can while at camp.  One parent commented “The joy with which the staff does their daily work and their desire to witness to Jesus Christ is certainly evident.”  We strive to share that joy in everything that we do so that campers feel that joy and are able to share it with others once they leave camp!

God’s blessings,

Melissa “Jet” Seehafer
