What is IMPACT?
IMPACT is a 10-day summer leadership program. Participants will grow through off-site service activities, an extensive leadership development curriculum, and challenging off-site adventures! IMPACT personally challenges each participant to better understand how to use their Christian faith and God-given leadership talents to serve others.
Who is IMPACT for?
This program is for 8th, 9th and 10th grade youth who are ready to make an IMPACT in their church, at school and in the community. Youth may be nominated by a pastor, teacher, or DCE or register on their own.
How is IMPACT different than a week at CampLuther?
IMPACT is more than just a camp! It is a three-year program. 8th grade youth who are selected will be encouraged to continue in the program for an additional two years.
During their stay at Camp Luther youth will be involved in daily Bible studies. The leadership training element builds off of these studies so that youth are learning from God’s Word and making it an ACTIVE part of their daily ministry to those around them. Jesus was a perfect example of how we should lead: through compassion and service. IMPACT seeks to reflect that leadership through SERVANT DAYS. SERVANT DAYS are days when youth leave the comforts of camp and get involved serving the community.
Another part of the IMPACT experience is the ADVENTURE QUEST. This is an exciting off-site camping trip that IMPACT participants embark on. It is a time of personal challenge and group growth.
Beyond the experience at camp, participants will be encouraged to continue in their leadership development and service. Plus, a weekend reunion will be held for IMPACT participants in early November.
IMPACT is the most exciting program CampLuther has developed in many years.
It will surely have an IMPACT on both the life of our youth and the life of our church.
