Energy and Conservation Workshop

April 16-17, 2010
A learner – level workshop designed to bring church leaders up to speed on trends in energy conservation. Attendees will learn the basics of energy management, terminology and systems, as well as gain a better understanding of current technology. The workshop will use data from Camp Luther to demonstrate the results of an energy assessment. Attendees may also bring data from their facility and work through an energy evaluation, as well as receive personal assistance from the workshop leader. (Attendees are encouraged to bring a copy of their home, business, or church utility bills, and a calculator)
Guest Presenter:Tom Zarnke has a 30-year career in Facility Management. As a graduate of Michigan Technological University, Tom holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Tom is a Registered Professional Engineer in Minnesota and is nationally accredited as a Certified Energy Manager and a Certified Energy Auditor. He is a member of the Association of Energy Engineers.

Friday evening – Saturday supper $55
Saturday Only (9am – 6pm)(inc. Lunch & Supper) $45

Registration:
Please use the enclosed registration form. Please include your deposit with your registration. Camp Luther accepts checks, cash, Visa, Master Card, and Discover. This workshop is for adults only. Activities and supervision for children will not be available.
The Program:
Registrants may choose to register for one-night, two-nights or Saturday only. Core information will be presented Saturday. Friday evening will allow participants an opportunity to discuss energy usage and stewardship within a presentation entitled “Is God Green.” Tom Zarnke, our presenter, will be available Saturday evening and Sunday to assist participants with hands-on demonstrations and individualized discussions.
