Exciting!
Rewarding!
Challenging!
A Blast!
You can make a difference this summer!
Camp Luther is just one of 35 LCMS (Lutheran Church-Missouri
Synod) camps offering a variety of positions each summer.
Serving as a Camp Luther summer staff
member or at another NLOMA (National Lutheran Outdoors Ministry
Association) camp is challenging, rewarding and fun. Those
chosen to serve can expect to grow professionally and spiritually.
Many life-long friendships were born during summers at Camp
Luther. It's not an easy job, but the rewards are eternal.
Camp Luther summer staff positions
include:
Male and Female Counselors
Lifeguards
Kitchen Assistants
Arts and Crafts Coordinators
Housekeeping/Storekeeping
Maintenance Assistants
Benefits and Length of Contract:

the North Wisconsin District - LCMS. Most 2008 contracts
will require staff to be on site from May 28 through August
19.
Qualifications:
Applicants for counselor positions must be
at least 18 years of age and enrolled at a college, university,
or tech. school. Counselor applicants must be members of a
Lutheran church. Prospective counselors should have a strong
desire to share their Christian faith, work with children,
spend time in the out-of-doors.
Applicants for specialty staff positions
(kitchen, housekeeping, maintenance, etc.) must be at least
16 years of age.
Work and Time Off:
You will work very hard if selected to a
part of the Camp Luther staff. Counselors will work from
early morning to late in the evening. You will spend nearly
every hour of the day with children, and will have very
little personal time. Specialty staff members may have grueling
and unglamorous duties to fulfill each day. Counselors receive
half of their weekends off. Other staff receive a combination
of mid-week days and weekends. The total for all staff equals
one day a week. Staff may request particular weekends off.
Specialty staff members often have evenings free except
for Canteen duties. Counselors also receive one hour off
each afternoon.
Application Process:
Apply online at
http://www.nloma.org/.
Your application will then be forwarded to Camp Luther.
Once you have applied, a Camp Luther staff member will contact
you to set up an interview. If you are attending a LCMS
college, a NLOMA representative will be on your campus in
January or February to conduct interviews. The application
deadline is January 31. (applications are accepted after January
31 if positions remain open.)
Most applicants will be notified of their status in early
March.
