Imagine a day when every child in the North Wisconsin District has the opportunity to attend summer camp at least once before their 9th grade. That is the vision of Every Kid to Camp.
Every Kid to Camp is a new campaign
of Camp Luther that seeks to send kids to camp.
Camp is more than just fun. It's a unique experience
where youth grow in maturity, self-worth, and in their
relationship with Jesus Christ. It's a blessing
that all our children should have a chance to experience.
Every Kid to Camp seeks to send
200 kids for free in 2007, with the ultimate goal of 400
free campers each year!
How Does Every Kid to Camp Work?
1. Your Pledge gets things started.
Your annual pledge
of $600, $1800, $2500 or $5000 makes Every Kid to Camp
work. Your pledge allows Camp Luther to provide
a 100% Campership to a child who hasn't been to camp
before. A portion of your gift also helps Camp
Luther pay the bills and keep registration fees low
for all campers. Five-year pledges are being sought.
2. Thrivent Helps
At the time of your pledge you will be asked to seek matching funds from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans through their Giving Plus program. Thrivent will match $1 for every $2 pledged. That means your pledge of $600 becomes $900 for Camp Luther.
3. Camperships are Awarded
Early each spring
congregations in the North Wisconsin District will be
notified when Every Kid to Camp Camperships are available.
Camperships will be distributed, two per congregation.
A drawing may be necessary to determine which congregations
will received the free camperships. The pastor or other
professional church worker in the congregation will
be asked to choose two children who have never been
to camp before to receive each campership.
4. Kids Go to Camp
Every Kid to
Camp will make a difference. Two-hundred
new campers will attend camp for the very first time.
Your pledge will help to send Every Kid to Camp. Please contact Lee Belmas, Campaign Director or Gary "Woody" Vought, Director of Outdoor Ministry if you can help.
